Bayshore Street Racing Suspect Was Going 102 MPH Before Hitting & Killing Mother & Child
More details are being released on the tragedy that occurred last week on Bayshore BLVD, where a mother and child visiting from Ohio lost their lives.
The suspect known as Cameron Herrin was driving his 2018 Ford Mustang while racing a Nissan. The two were seen speeding down Bayshore just moments before hitting and killing Jessica Raubenolt and injuring her two-year-old daughter, Lillia, who later died from her injuries.
Court documents are revealing that the Ford Mustang was actually traveling at a much faster speed than what witnesses claimed. Witnesses claimed the car seemed to be traveling at 60mph, but in fact the car was going at a dangerous speed of 102mph; this revealed from electronic evidence taken from the vehicle.
According to brakingdistance.com, an average vehicle would need 620 ft to be able to come to a complete stop.
It’s so sad to see how one bad decision can affect and ruin so many lives. Our thoughts go out to this mother and child’s family during this difficult time.
