Kip Moore: You’ll Sell Your Soul To Be Famous These Days
Kip Moore is taking on social media and the sometimes messed-up habits that evolved from it.
With help from Noisey, the Georgia native just released a music video for “Blonde,” a song that rebukes today’s media-driven culture. “Every girl now is trying to start an Instagram page by showing how amazing their a** is,” he tells the digital publication. “You’ll sell your soul for whatever it takes to be famous nowadays.”

Kip explains that he doesn’t subscribe to what’s trendy. “I’m never going to be one of those artists that’s trying to stay relevant with a super-young pop-culture centered audience,” he says. “That’s what we’re pushed to do. That’s what’s been shoved down my throat over and over. I see it all the time with artists trying to hold onto that. I refuse … I’m going to grow as my music grows. I’m going to grow as a human being.”
Kip’s new album Slowheart is due September 8th and all signs point to a very distinct, if not left-of-center project. That’s just how Kip wanted it, apparently, and he makes no apologies. “Everyone was like, ‘Go do whatever the hell you want because it’s working,'” he tells Noisey with a laugh. “That was probably the most gratifying moment in my career. I had finally gotten everybody’s attention.” Read the entire story and check out the new video here.
