Everyone has a preferred grocery store. In the Tampa Bay area, people likely do most of their grocery shopping at Publix. But if you want to really save some cash on snacks and meals, a lot of people turn to Aldi. I would have never thought to review a grocery store, but that’s what the internet is for! So we took those reviews and ranked the best Tampa Bay Aldi locations. Here’s what we found.

There are 210 branded ALDI grocery stores in Florida and about 15+ Aldi locations around the Tampa Bay area. For this article, we’ll be sticking to the 5 stores in Tampa and a few surrounding areas like Clearwater, St. Pete, and Largo. We may be seeing even more Tampa Bay Aldi locations pop up. Earlier this month, Aldi completed its acquisition of Southern Grocers Inc., the parent company of Winn-Dixie supermarkets.

In a report from Fox 35 Orlando, Aldi plans to convert a large number of Winn-Dixie stores to the Aldi format. However, there will be a “meaningful amount” of Winn-Dixie locations that will operate as is. We don’t know which locations will be converted yet, but once the information is released, you can expect an update on this post. Aldi will start their “phased approach” to the store conversion process for about 50 stores in the Southeastern states later this year.

In a press release from Aldi, CEO Jason Hart said “With this commitment to add 800 stores in the next five years, we’ll be where our shoppers need us while positively impacting the communities we serve.” These new and remodeled stores will feature sustainable additions, like energy-efficient LED lighting, environmentally friendly refrigeration systems, rooftop solar systems, and more.

Methodology For Ranking The Best Tampa Bay Aldi Locations

First, we confirmed the Tampa Bay locations on Aldi’s website. Then, we went to Google reviews to see how many that store had and what people were saying. If you usually go to the Aldi off Hillsborough, then you’re not going to go out of your way to University Plaza just because of a couple of opinions. But if there is one in your area with a higher ranking, then you can try it out!

  • ALDI 14933 N. Florida Ave

    Rating: 4.5

What people are saying: Great location even though there is another location super close to this one. One person mentioned the store can sometimes be understaffed so occasionally the shelves can be a bit of dis array.

  • ALDI 1551 34th Street North

    Rating: 4.5

    Number of reviews: 1,695

What people are saying: Lots of people say this store is always busy! This store has both self checkout and traditional registers which seems to please a lot of people. We don’t get why people hate self-check out lanes because it usually goes by quicker. We just wish they would put a cap on how many items you can check out with in these lanes (20 or less would be ideal.)
