At first, it seems impossible, but now, there are too many reasons to not believe it. Here are eight exciting clues that lead us to believe NSYNC is reuniting.

Yes, you read that correctly, the ultimate boyband NSYNC is rumored to not only be reuniting for a new song for the new Trolls film. In fact Entertainment Tonight says that it is happening. They report “JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick are expected to have surprise roles in the third Trolls film, Trolls Band Together, with Justin Timberlake.” Timberlake voices the role of Branch in the franchise.

The Backstreet Boys, New Kids On The Block, and even 98 Degrees and O-Town have reunited in the past and have been very successful. They usually tour every other summer and sell out arenas. The Backstreet Boys also had a residency in Las Vegas and New Kids On The Block had their very successful cruises. However, the only time we saw an NSYNC reunion was at the 2013 VMAs and a non-performance appearance on The Ellen Show when they received their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame during Season 15.

The rumors started when the trailer for the new Trolls Band Together dropped. The concept of the movie is that Timberlake’s Branch character was in a family boy band when he was younger, but they broke up and he didn’t talk to his “brothers” ever again. Poppy, played again by Anna Kendrick, is so shocked that she had no idea Branch was in a boyband. Branch’s brother shows up and wants to reunite their band BroZone, much to Branch’s dismay (and hurt).

In one of the scenes from the trailer, you can hear NSYNC’s song “I Want You Back” which has led many fans to think there is going to be some sort of new music release and/or a reunion tour attached to the new Trolls Band Together movie and we have to say, the clues are very convincing. But NSYNC fans are good detectives and here is some of what they’re saying.

Here at 8 exciting clues that lead us to believe NSYNC is reuniting:

  • Joey Fatone and Lance Bass Give Each Other Cheeky Looks During Orlando Performance

The fans went into a frenzy when Joey Fatone and Lance Bass performed together at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival last weekend. During the show they performed the NSYNC song “Here We Go” and during the part where it says “Now is the time we reunite” they gave each other telling looks and laughed. Is everyone looking too deeply into this? Maybe!

  • Justin Timberlake's In Studio Birthday Wish to JC Chasez

JC Chasez’s birthday is August 8; this year he turned 47 years old. Justin broke the internet when he posted on his Instagram Story a happy birthday post to JC and it was a video of them in the studio vibing to what looks like them working on a new song! They might just be working on something for Justin’s next solo album.  Or JC’s!

  • Chris Kirkpatrick Posts Reunion Clue On Instagram Story

Chris Kirkpatrick posted on his Instagram story a sign that says “$5 Margaritas All Day the Next Time NSYNC Plays Nashville.” Chris then added his own comment saying, “Is this a threat or a promise.” Or is it a bit of wishful thinking on Chris’s part?

  • Lance Says JC Needed Convincing

Lance Bass has his very popular podcast Frosted Tips where he talks to and about all things boybands and early ’00s. He has said a few times that it’s JC Chasez that needed to be convinced to do an NSYNC reunion, not Justin Timberlake as everyone thinks. That’s a bit hard to believe. One of them headlines arenas and is now a movie star, and the other one isn’t.

  • NSYNC Manager's Tweet

NSYNC’s longtime manager Melinda Bell made the fans go even more wild when she tweeted how they were good at clues. She didn’t use the exact term “easter egg” but said they were good at “clue hunting.” Of course, that could be wishful thinking on her part too.

  • JC Chasez Meow Mix Commerical

JC Chasez definitely shocked the pop culture world when he did a commerical for Meow Mix. JC hasn’t done much since leaving NYSNC so this was surprising and many fans took it as a clue for the NSYNC reunion when JC said in the commerical: “Working with the Tabby 5 has led me to thinking about other boy band ventures….you never know.”

  • Ticketmaster Line on Website

The last time NSYNC performed together was in August 2013 at the VMAs when Justin Timberlake got the Video Vanguard Award. It was a short performance, but one that people still talk about and yearn for.  Fans were quick to notice that on Ticketmaster’s website on their artist page, there is a line about it being a 10-year absence since their last performance making everyone think 2023 will the be year for them to reunite.

Ticket buyers can only hope that a 10-year absence will bring a new perspective on their pop classics as well as the exciting potential of new compositions.

  • Trolls 'Band Together'

This is the trailer for Trolls Band Together that made the NSYNC rumors start festering. The movie is supposed to be released in November of this year, which is almost exactly 10 years from the last time NSYNC performed together. Some reports said the movie was going to be held because of the SAG/AFTRA strike, but it seems like it’s staying with the November 2023 release.
