Tampa Ranks As One Of The Cheapest Cities For A Date Night
The good news is that Tampa was listed among the 10 cheapest cities for a date night. The only disclaimer is that it is specific to a date night where you stay in. The Loupe (by Shane Company), recently detailed the cost of a date night in major cities across the country. In addition, they compare the costs of a night out vs. a night staying in.
“Whether you’re a homebody or a social butterfly, we’ve crunched the numbers to analyze the costs of multiple date night factors, including food, movies, booze, tips, fees, and rideshare in 50 of America’s largest cities,” The Loupe explains. This report highlights that all is not lost if the cost of a date night out is more than you budgeted. They also compare what a date night “in” would be. As you can imagine, in most cases, it is significantly cheaper.
A Tampa Date Night By The Numbers
The Loupe states that a typical date night within the confines of your own home will cost about $36.33 in Tampa. For context, that ranks as the 10th cheapest in the country and is not far from Detroit, which ranked #1 at $29.87. Orlando was the next Florida city to make an appearance here, ranking #20.
It’s important to note that a date night here considers the average cost of takeout meals, delivery, tips, renting a movie, beer, and ice cream. The Loupe estimates that a date night out in Tampa will cost $136.81. So, by deciding to have your date at home, you would save over $100.
Overall, New York was the most expensive city for a date night out at $202.30. San Francisco was only about $2 more than Boston at $179, rounding out the top three priciest cities.
A night out around the town is certainly worth the extra spend at times. In addition, there’s nothing wrong with grabbing some food and relaxing in your own place. “Pull on your favorite sweatpants and get ready to give your wallet a break,” The Loupe concludes.
5 Florida Cities Named Best Babymoon Destinations
If you are looking for a quick getaway to savor the invaluable moments of sleeping in, or going out to dinner, you may want to consider staying within the Bay State. Sixt recently published the 20 best destinations for a babymoon in the United States, and five Florida cities made the list.
“When you’re expecting, many couples want to plan one last vacation or adventure before their baby arrives to enjoy time together, just the two of them,” Sixt explains. They also detail how their data has shown, “Searches for ‘affordable babymoon destinations’ have increased by 300% in the past twelve months. Similarly, search trends for ‘what is a babymoon’ have soared by 250%.”
To determine the best places in the country to take a babymoon, Sixt identified six different categories. They then used these topics to examine each city. As a result, they assigned a score and totaled them up. The categories were; happiness, safety, leisure activities, scenic views, friendliness, food, and drink.
What Exactly Is A Babymoon?
Being able to eat uninterrupted and with both hands will soon be considered a luxury. A babymoon is all about relaxation and spending quality time together. “This is a great opportunity to celebrate the new adventures on the way while taking care of yourself and your own needs,” Healthline explained in their recent “What Is a Babymoon?” story.
“For the most memorable experience, try to plan a babymoon when you feel your best, which for many women is during their second trimester,” Healthline states when discussing when to take a babymoon.
In Florida, the five destinations that ranked among the top 20 places to go for a babymoon are all very different from each other. Sixt ranked Kissimmee as the 2oth best babymoon destination, and Miami came in at number nineteen. Three other Florida locations made the top twenty, with two landing in the top 10.
