Jordan Davis was recently asked if he has had a chance to fly with his tour headliner Dierks Bentley. Dierks is a pilot who flies his own Cessna plane to shows nationwide. Jordan said his tour boss saved him recently and helped him make a show.
Davis told us, "First show of the tour, I'm sitting on an Air Canada flight plane in Toronto. It's an hour delayed. Everybody knows Air Canada is terrible. So I was like, 'This flight is gonna get canceled; I'm gonna miss the first day of the Dierks tour.' Then I get a message from my manager that says, 'Hey, get off the plane; Dierks is gonna re-route and pick us up."
Jordan continues, "True story. He swoops in and picks us up with caked-on sunscreen in his Dierks gear: flip-flops and shorts. I was like, 'Thanks, dude, for picking me up,' he says, 'Yeah man, hop in, we'll take off.' We fly to Canada going down to land, something's on the runway, and we have to pull back up. Dierks is flying the airplane, not like co-piloting; he's flying the airplane, goes down, pulls back up, circles back around, comes in, and in one of the smoothest landings I've ever had in a PJ (personal jet), he flies in a PJ, he's rich."
Davis adds with admiration, "So, I gotta say, there's nothing the guy can't do."
Bentley and Jordan are playing shows in California this week. Then they are heading to Oregon next week on Dierks' "Gravel & Gold Tour."

We recently chatted with Bentley about his album Gravel & Gold, and he told us how he found Elle King for the 2016 collaboration "Different For Girls," which won a CMA Award in 2016 for Vocal Event of The Year.
He told us, "When you've got a collaboration on a record, we had the song 'Different For Girls,' and I was looking for who could make the song bigger than it is. I'm lucky to have had collaborations with Maren (Morris ) and Kacey (Musgraves), but that one was just trying to find someone that no one else was using."
Bentley continued, "I knew the song 'X's and Oh's,' and I was talking to my manager, and her name came up. And I said, 'How do we get in touch with her? She'd be awesome, although she seems kind of crazy, and she probably would hate us.'"
Country music stars have always been quite friendly even though they compete each week for spots on the country charts and ticket sales to their concerts.
Over the years, several bromances have developed between some of country music's most prominent male superstars. We look at the Top 5 Country Music bromances from the last decade, and the guys have outdone themselves on the friendship scale.
5 - Darius Rucker and Lady A's Charles Kelley
Darius makes friends with many people in the entertainment industry. He once told us while we were discussing his friendship with the Duck Dynasty reality show guys that when he likes someone and their work, he reaches out to start a friendship whenever he can. Darius and Charles have been buddies since Rucker started touring with Lady A toward the beginning of his country music career back in 2011 on Lady A's "Own The Night" tour.
4 - Dierks Bentley and Thomas Rhett
These guys have been buddies for a while now and live close to each other in the Nashville area. Once while Thomas was waiting in a grocery store line and realized he didn't have any money, Dierks happened to be behind him in line and loaned him the cash for his purchase. Rhett also had some fun playing part of Bentley's parody band Hot Country Knights.
3 - Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw
Kenny and Tim's friendship goes way back to when the guys first came to Nashville in the early 1990s. The guys have retained their 30-year friendship over the years and even did a duet together called "Like A Rock Star" in 2012.
2 - Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton
These two superstars recently made another Top 5 list for getting mistaken for each other at times when out in public. Blake and Luke trade fun jabs and even hosted the ACM Awards in 2013. Despite people occasionally saying they don't like each other, they are good friends.
1 - Kane Brown and Chris Young
Kane and Chris have been friends since Brown was first signed to Young's RCA label in 2105. While they supported each other from that fateful day, it wasn't until Young's "Famous Friends" duet with Kane in 2021 became such a big hit and award nominee that their friendship became well-known.
