You never know who you will run into in the Nashville airport. Those travelers with layovers in Nashville were surprised recently when they were having a drink or two between flights at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Nashville Airport Club, and Blake showed up to say hi and sing a song.
Blake comes in wearing his casual tan jacket and a baseball hat. Shelton steps onto the small stage and thanks everyone for their support, saying it’s the first time he has been to the airport Ole Red. He then sings “Ole Red,” the song that inspired the bar’s name, which has locations in downtown Nashville, Orlando, and Oklahoma.
The official Ole Red Instagram posted a video clip of the bossman’s visit, writing, “Best way to spend a layover in Nashville.” See that post here.
Shelton and his wife, Gwen Stefani, recently spent time on their property in Oklahoma, and the couple was hunting for Morel mushrooms together when they stumbled on a ton of what they were looking for. Gwen shared a video clip of the moment on her Instagram.
In the video, Gwen says, “What? I don’t want you to show me; I wanna find them myself.” Blake says, “There are so many mushrooms around us right now that I’ve never even seen anything like this.” Gwen says, “Okay, stop, watch me not be able to find them; they are right here.” She points, “Oh my gosh, Blake, they’re everywhere.” She screams. “OH MY GOSH, WHAT? Are they overgrown, though?” Shelton responds, “No.” He starts to cut them and holds one in his hand, and shrieks, “Eureka!” The couple both begin to cut and pick them.” Later, Blake fries them up when they get home.
For those who do not know, according to All Recipes, Morel mushrooms are a type of wild mushroom with an earthy, nutty flavor. They have a meaty texture, unlike the more slimy texture of other mushroom varieties. These mushrooms are a highly desired ingredient among chefs and mushroom enthusiasts. The reason? They’re only grown in the wild, unlike farmed mushrooms you’ll find in the grocery store.
