JOANN Fabrics Giving Away Free Materials To Make Face Masks And Gowns To Donate
Hospitals are running out of medical supplies, they are constantly having to reuse face masks. JOANN Fabrics have come to aid this ever growing problem.
JOANN will open its classrooms to any who want to help make essential items. Participating locations will offer sewing machines, materials and guidance to help customers safely make face masks and covers, gowns and other items to donate to America’s hospitals. JOANN will provide and donate 100% of the supplies needed for these projects for those who come in to make. This is incredible news. I am so happy to see such wonderful people giving back.
“Due to the critical shortage, health authorities and hospitals have changed their guidelines for what level of protection is recommended. The CDC has stated that homemade fabric masks are a crisis response option when other supplies have been exhausted. While these materials are not medical grade, they have been made based on patterns and using fabric and materials recommended for medical settings, including the guidelines provided by the Providence Hospital System in Washington. These materials should only be used in accordance with current CDC guidelines.”
