What can you do, if anything to avoid exposure:

  • Drain Standing Water

Where do you see standing water? Make it go away. Garbage cans, house gutters, buckets, pool covers, coolers, toys, flowerpots. Even old tires, bottles, pots, broken appliances, and other items not being used. Also remember to cover boats and vehicles with rain tarps that drain out and do not accumulate water.
Yes, even empty the kid’s plastic swimming pools when the kids are done.

  • Cover Your Skin

Mosquito repellent is great. But, long sleeves and clothing work too. Dry fit baby !
Including your legs and feet with shoes, socks,  and long pants.
You got kids younger than 2 months old, be sure and break out the mosquito netting.
