Firstly, a website called Menu Price analyzed Google data on 30 popular candy bars to see which ones were the most popular in each state and in the country.
Say, you are at the vending machine and you are trying to make a decision of which candy bar you want. If you are in the state of Florida, then you are most likely going to choose a Snickers. Snickers is the #1 chocolate bar in Florida. Snickers is the #1 chocolate bar in five states, but it isn't #1.
Milky Way is #1 in the nation. It is the most popular in eight states. Alabama, Delaware, California, Georgia, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Virginia love Milky Way.
The reason why the list was created is to celebrate World Chocolate Day, which is July 7th every year. The day was established in 2009 and it commemorates chocolate’s arrival in Europe in 1550.

The #1 chocolate bar in the United States. The #1 bar in eight states: Alabama, Delaware, California, Georgia, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Virginia.
Hershey's
#2 overall and the most popular chocolate bar in seven states. Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nevada, Texas and Utah. Interesting that Pennsylvania isn't on this list, since they have a town named after the candy.
Twix
Are you are right or left Twix? Well, it is #3 overall. It is tied with Hershey's with seven states ranking it #1. Alaska, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont.
Kit Kat
Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar. Five states say that to make it #1. Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wyoming.
Snickers
#1 in Florida and #5 overall. Snickers is also the #1 chocolate bar in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Kansas and Indiana.
