Joe Nuzzo opened Suncoast Surf Shop on Treasure Island at St Pete Beach in 1966. He opened with a few surfboards and a hand full of stickers. At his Memorial Paddle Out we had hundreds of surfers, paddlers, boaters, and skimmers from age 5 to 95. The Surf community is pretty Gnarly. Everyone had a story about Joe. He was and always will be the Suncoast Kahuna.
Joe held an annual (and huge) Christmas party every year for charity. Many of us met him a charity events. He did them all. For Hurricane relief, Surfers for Autism, Paddle For Cancer, Schools, and on and on and on. Joe always brought his Quiver (boards), his great staff (good people), a big smile, and a camera.
Thanks to our line for sharing photos and lotsa love!
