A Chicago man, Aimen Halim, has taken a stand against Buffalo Wild Wings and their parent company, Inspire Brands, suing them for false advertising. The bone of contention? Whether or not their “boneless wings” are truly wings at all. Only way to find out for sure? Chicken Wing research!
It seems that Halim, a staunch defender of the traditional wing, was shocked to discover that Buffalo Wild Wings’ boneless variety was not made from actual chicken wings but rather, gasp, chicken breast! The lawsuit alleges that these deep-fried impostors are more akin to chicken nuggets than the beloved wing.
The Associated Press even weighed in on the matter, labeling the boneless wing as a “culinary lie” and lumping it in with other “gentle impostors” such as imitation crab meat and baby carrots (which, for the uninitiated, are actually adult carrots whittled down to a cuter size).
