Launa at Fair

The Florida State Fair is coming! Rides, Fun, and crazy foods are what we are all looking forward to!

Tampa Bays 10 did an article on some of the crazy weird foods coming this year and Launa is excited to get out there on an empty stomach and try ’em all!

This year the fair runs from Thursday, February 9 through February 20 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.  CLICK HERE for more details on the fair.

 

  • 1. Mexican Street Corn Sundae

    You can find this dish at DeAnna’s Steak Sundaes. If you love Mexican, check this out – french fries layered with warm chile con queso, sweet corn, Mexican spices, crumbled cheese, cilantro lime crema, crushed corn chips and your choice of cajun shrimp or sirloin steak.

  • 2. Tampa Cuban Funnel Cake Sandwich

    Oh wow…This sandwich has spanish pork, smoked ham, Genoa salami, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and mustard pressed between two traditional four-inch cakes and topped with doughnut glaze.  I’m getting hungry.

  • 3. Fried Key Lime Pie

    Dessert lovers….don’t miss out on this one.    This is also found at DeAnna’s Steak Sundaes.   This is loaded with bite-sized pieces of mini doughnuts with buttercream frosting, Key lime pie filling, and fresh whipped cream.  It is then topped with white chocolate, graham cracker crumble, and a fresh lime slice.

  • 4. Cookie Taco Supreme

    Wait…. a cookie and a taco go together?  Yup!  You can find this at the Funky Flamingo.  It’s a taco-shaped chocolate chip cookie, stuffed with s’mores ice cream and topped with Oreos, chocolate dip, and whipped cream.  Now that sounds delicious!

  • 5. Nacho Mama

    There are lots of yummy Mexican dishes this year and another one is found at Rosie’s Nachos.   Homemade tortilla chips topped with tenderloin steak, homemade pico de Gallo,  jalapeños, green onions, sautéed onions and peppers, sour cream, nacho cheese, shredded Monterey jack cheese, and ranch.
