LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MARCH 19: A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department vehicle is parked at Paris Las Vegas as parts of the Las Vegas Strip go dark as a result of the statewide shutdown due to the continued spread of coronavirus across the United States on March 19, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Tuesday, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced a statewide closure of all nonessential businesses, including all hotel-casinos on the Strip, for at least 30 days to help combat the spread of COVID-19. The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic on March 11th. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Normally, the ACM Awards would be happening next week in Las Vegas and our favorite country music artists would be descending upon this vibrant place. Life has changed for all of us and these images just reiterate that fact.

Seeing these photos just floored me. The photos of the empty airport are just creepy.  The last time I was in Vegas was for my cousin’s wedding and you couldn’t even move through the casinos and shops.  I remember waiting for over 45 minutes even to get a table for lunch!  Usually you can’t even find an empty slot machine…well, at least the 25 cent ones!

I look forward to when these streets are full of people again. Luckily, they have announced a new date for the ACM Awards, however, no idea if it will still be happening in Las Vegas.
