Florish on S Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa has been named the top woman-run pizza place in America according to an OnDeck study.
Jill and Keith Sedita, also known as Jill Faline and Keith Sedita, operate this plant-based eatery. Florish offers pizzas with 48-hour fermented New York-style dough, fresh toppings, and dairy-free choices. It also features plant-based bowls, side dishes, and desserts made on-site.
OnDeck examined over 12,000 women-led small businesses across 431 U.S. cities, evaluating pizza places based on Yelp ratings and reviews. "Florish took first for its plant-based, wood-fired pizzas and its mission-driven dining," mentioned OnDeck. "Reviewers often praise bold flavors, creative toppings, and friendly atmosphere."
Florish also secured the second position among all women-owned restaurants nationwide, with a 4.93 out of 5-star rating. The nearest competitor, Olli Olive Pizza in Fort Lauderdale, scored a 4.86.
Locally, Florish won Best Pizza and Best Health-Conscious Restaurant in Tampa Magazine's 2026 Best Restaurants awards, being applauded for having the best pizza and gluten-free options in Tampa.
Opened in 2022, Florish recently celebrated its fourth year as Tampa's first vegan pizzeria in South Tampa. The menu appeals to both vegans and non-vegans. The idea came from the owners' sons, who adopted veganism before them. "We have two boys…they started a vegan diet before us," Keith Sedita shared with Fox13 News. "They inspired us. As a busy family of four living in South Tampa, finding quick, convenient options was tough."
Jill Sedita wanted to make sure the food tasted delicious. "We knew flavors must be right, and the food tasty," she stated. "We're food lovers ourselves, as are our kids."
The focus is on fresh ingredients, fair pay, and making plant-based dining inviting and accessible. The modern fast-casual venue is located in a strip mall near Tampa International Airport, Raymond James Stadium, and downtown Tampa.
Popular menu items include Jersey Girl pizza with mushrooms and low-calorie pineapple mango tea. Customers can also enjoy chocolate coconut cookies, soft drinks, organic teas, and local craft beers and wines.
