Giancarlo’s Cafe & Spirits Set To Open in Tampa’s North Hyde Park

Giancarlo's Cafe & Spirits will open at 1528 W. North B St. in North Hyde Park. This pizzeria, cafe, and bar comes from the team behind Santoro's, one of Tampa's well-loved pizza spots.

The new spot will serve diner fare, bar pies, coffee, breakfast, and cocktails. No opening date has been announced. The Instagram page shows signage, job applications, food teasers, and an "Open soon!" message. Tuesday's post said: "It's all coming together."

Owner Travis Kaiser named both restaurants for his sons. He told That's So Tampa he wants to keep the new spot approachable for those who live nearby.

"You don't have to beat people over the head with price," Kaiser said. "Overpricing yourself out of the market is a bad thing, in my opinion."

Kaiser said the way he grew up and ate shaped his approach. He never went to expensive places. Relatability matters to him, and he loves the neighborhood.

Santoro's is known for Jersey-style slices. The new cafe will feature bar pie style pizza, which has a crispy crust. This means the two restaurants won't compete against each other.

The addition will bring a new dining option to the area. Kaiser knows the neighborhood well and said he's excited about expanding the footprint in North Hyde Park.
