The Patel Conservatory at Straz Center for the Performing Arts will stage 10 performances of The Wizard of Oz from Nov. 14 through Nov. 23 in Tampa. This production brings L. Frank Baum's story to life, featuring songs from the 1939 MGM film.

Straz Center ranks among the largest performing arts complexes in the United States. Students train at this professional-level performing arts school.

Dorothy and her dog Toto get swept away by a tornado to the land of Oz. There, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion on her quest to return home.

Shows span three weekends. Performances begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 21. Saturday shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov. 15 and Nov. 22.

Sunday performances happen on Nov. 16 and Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The second weekend coincides with Thanksgiving.

Tickets can be purchased through the Straz Center website. Student performers will bring this production to the stage.
