Cooper’s Hawk Opens Third Piccolo Buco Location in Tampa This October

A new Roman dining experience is coming to Tampa as Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants opens its third Piccolo Buco at 14904 N. Dale Mabry Highway on October 20, 2025. The Florida location represents an exciting expansion for the growing restaurant group.

The new Tampa restaurant can seat up to 192 guests. The main dining room holds 144 people, while a comfortable covered patio accommodates another 48. Guests can watch their food being prepared in the open kitchen or enjoy a glass of wine at the modern tasting bar.

Chef Luca Issa, who opened the original Piccolo Buco in Rome, brings his pizza expertise to Florida. His distinctive style features light, puffy crusts made from a family recipe that's been handed down over generations.

The menu features popular dishes like Mama Luca's Meatballs and Crispy Calamari. Pizzas come in three varieties - Red, Yellow, or White. Lunch options include special sandwiches made with pizza dough, following traditional Sardinian recipes.

Guests can choose from genuine Italian wines or try Cooper's Hawk's own selection. The restaurant's 800,000 wine club members get extra perks at this newest location.

The interior blends industrial elements with Roman-inspired design. Ambient lighting hangs over tables, while eye-catching murals of classical statues decorate the walls. Natural wood details and floral designs add a cozy touch to the bar area.

Local business leaders will join the owners on October 18 at 4:30 p.m. for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, staying open later until 10 p.m. on weekends. Happy hour specials run Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
