New Location For The Savannah Bananas In Tampa Bay
There will be a new location for the Savannah Bananas in Tampa Bay. Originally the Savannah Bananas were to play March 15 and 16th at Tropicana Field. Well, as you know by now, the roof was ripped off of Tropicana Field due to the high winds of Hurricane Milton. It is unknown even if the Tampa Bay Rays will be playing there next year. Well, the Savannah Bananas will still be playing in Tampa Bay but this time it will be at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. It will only be one night instead of two and the game date will be March 15. So the tickets will be available for purchase through a lottery system you can go to the Savannah Bananas website to register for the lottery.
I am so interested to see how they’re going to put a baseball field in Raymond James Stadium. Still, nonetheless, the event is such a fun time. I took my son Jake when the Savannah Bananas came here in 2023 where they played at Steinbrenner Field. It was rainy. The game got delayed but when it started, it was totally worth the wait. The Bananas ended up playing some MLB legends players, including former Tampa Bay Rays player, Matt Joyce, and former Boston Red Sox player Bronson Arroyo. Even Lou Pinella, who is a former Tampa Bay Rays manager, was there.
“We could not be more excited for the Savannah Bananas to ‘Stay in the Bay,’” Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission Rob Higgins said in a statement. “We’re thankful to our friends at the Tampa Sports Authority for their quick collaboration and to Jesse Cole and the Savannah Bananas for being such committed partners in keeping the World Tour in our region as we continue to heal from the significant effects of this hurricane season.”
