Florida Is One Of The Best States For Teachers
A list of the best states for teachers has come out and Florida is in the top 10. This is WalletHub’s annual list of the best and worst states for teachers. They rated all 50 states and Washington, D.C. on a bunch of different areas some of those areas include teacher friendliness, opportunity and competition and academic and work environment. Additionally starting salary is involved as well as income growth potential.
Where Florida Ranks On The List Of Best States For Teachers
Florida is 8th on the list as it ranks 12th opportunity and competition. Florida is also 12th in academic and work environment rank. Here’s the bad news, annual salaries that have been adjusted for cost-of-living Florida ranks 49th in the United States. Back in June, Governor Ron DeSantis announced a $1.25 billion increase in teacher salary so hopefully that ranking will go up.
The National Education Association says that the average teacher salary in Florida is $53,098, making it really low in the nation for pay. That pay is also less than Florida’s minimum living wage, which is $58,970.
