Publix Is One Of The Best Places To Work

Fortune released their list of the best places to work in Publix is on the list. This is the 11th year in a row that Publix has been on the best places to work list. It was ranked fifth overall in retail in the entire country.

“Being named one of the best workplaces in the retail industry for the 11th year in a row is an honor,” said Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous in a press release. “At Publix, we make an effort to stay true to the philosophies our company was founded on 94 years ago — taking care of our associates and communities.”

The way that Fortune came up with its list of the best places to work is by analyzing survey feedback. That feedback represented more than 1 million employees working in the retail industry in the United States. The questions were about the worker’s experiences with the companies, including innovation, company, values, and the effectiveness of leaders.

Below is a list of the Top 10 places to work.

Publix is an employee supermarket chain that was founded right here in Florida. It was founded in 1930 by George W. Jenkins in Winter Haven, but now their corporate office calls Lakeland home. On Publix’s website, they say that they are one of the country’s 10 largest volume supermarket chains and employ over 255,000 people. As of September 2024, there are 1,378 store locations across the southeast United States. 870 of those stores are right here in Florida. Additionally, they have 10 distribution centers, including one in Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama. They also have 10 manufacturing facilities.

There have stores in 8 states. There is only one store in the state of Kentucky. Additionally, there are only 20 stores in Virginia. They keep expanding into more states, but how many more states will they open stores in?
