New Florida Law Will Allow You To Buy A Gallon Of Wine
The new law on wine consumption is now official in the state of Florida. The governor of our state has been busy signing laws lately and has just signed another one. This new Florida law will allow you to buy and drink a GALLON of wine. If you’re a wine lover like me, this is very exciting news.
The ceremony took place in a wine store in the Fort Lauderdale area near Miami. Many thought that this law had to be changed a long time ago. The law itself was HB 583, which for almost everyone was an anachronistic law. DeSantis and other lawmakers agreed that was not good even for businesses, much less for wine lovers who have to be buying our regular bottles of wine every day.
The old law prohibited the sale of wine in bottles larger than a gallon, which is a little more than 3 liters unless it was sold in a 5.16-gallon reusable container. Distributors are allowed to sell to other factories or distributors to the extent they want. In the past, the governor said, this big bottle that I have here was not sold to you. Now you can buy up to 15 liters at your favorite wine place, a sum that is equivalent to almost 4 gallons.
When Will This New Florida Law Take Effect?
The new law for wine lovers comes into effect on July 1st for everyone who reads this article and already wants to order their gigantic bottle of wine, you still have to wait a little while. But after July 1st, you’ll be able to buy wine in 4.5-, 6-, 9-, 12- and 15-liter glass bottles.
Now that you know the details of the law, what do you think this change will really change the experience of buying wine for you? Personally, I am more than happy with this law so I don’t have to go looking for wine every day in the store, and with this new law, I can buy it from month to month.
