Lainey Wilson’s Love Letter to Country Music
Lainey Wilson didn’t miss the opportunity to post a message on her Instagram to one of her lifetime Valentines: country music.
In a video clip, Lainey narrates photos and videos of herself through her childhood on horses and a four-wheeler. She said, “My love letter to country music. Country music isn’t just a genre to those of us that love it; it’s a lifestyle. It’s the way we were raised and the way that we talk. It’s the way we eat, breathe, sleep, and survive. It is putting in the hard work to break a wild horse or pulling a tractor out of the mud. And the endurance to get up and do it all again. Growing up knowing all the words to Willie, Waylon, Hank, and Dolly. And family trips to Gatlinburg and Dollywood, and the Grand Ole Opry.”
She concluded, “Seeing the world be remined of and start to love the lifestyle that we’ve always known has put a big ole smile on my face. That’s why I’m so proud to say, ‘Country’s cool again.'”

Wilson captioned the post, “I’ve got a few Valentines, and country music has always been one (heart emoji). Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! #countryscoolagain.”
When we chatted with Lainey recently, she told us her thoughts on country music today. She said, “I’m excited to be part of this generation of country music. I think everybody sounds different; everybody looks different. You know who it is when they come on the radio, and to me, that’s what it was like in the nineties. You just knew who it was; they’ve got their own thing going.”
Wilson knows what helped bring back the cowboy way of life, saying, “I think Yellowstone has had a big part of the Western way of life becoming cool again. In my opinion, it should’ve never not been cool, and it’s truly just the way that I was raised. But it does seem like everybody is wanting to be a cowboy.”
