List Of Some Tax Free Items For Back To School
There isn’t just tax free holiday for back to school, but now there is two. Check out some tax free items you can get for back to school in January. The back to school holiday runs from January 1 – 14, 2024. Maybe you are looking to buy a new computer or just small school supplies. Well, the back to school tax free holiday is a great week to buy those items.
This all comes from Florida‘s Department of Revenue. You can see the items below.
- Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles selling for $30 or less
- Most school supplies selling for $50 or less
- Clothing, footwear and accessories selling for $100 or less
- Computers and related accessories selling for $1,500 or less (when purchased for non-commercial and personal use)
Even if you don’t have a child in school, you can still take advantage of this deal. I actually took advantage of it when I bought a new computer and didn’t have to pay tax on the brand new computer. So, if you were looking to buy a new computer or maybe some clothing or footwear now is a great time to do so but you need to do it by January 14.
The Back To School Tax Free Holiday Only Used To Be Once A Year
Usually this tax free holiday has only been one time per year in July. A second holiday was added to this school year. This was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. There are many things you can get no tax on for back to school and it’s pretty much anything you can think of that you will need for school the Florida Department of revenue has a great list of everything that you can get free for this upcoming second half of the school year.

It’s time to close the chapter to 2023 and look forward to the next year. Luckily for us in Tampa, there’s a lot to be excited about in 2024. Be on the lookout for these new businesses and experiences in Tampa Bay next year.
Champa Bay seems to be growing and expanding more and more each year. So many new places and experiences popped up in 2023, and it was hard to keep track. We discovered a bunch of new restaurants, hotels, and adventures that opened up this past year. 2024 might be even better! We get to look forward to new restaurants and bars, roller coasters, and so many big acts playing Tampa venues (just to name a few). 2023 in review:
Tampa had a lot of growth in 2023, leaving us excited for what’s to come. This year we said “hello” to many new businesses and attractions including the tallest rooftop bar in Tampa, new restaurants with Michelin-star chefs, changes to our favorite theme park, and more. We also said “goodbye” to some of our favorite businesses and athletes who got traded to other teams (like Pat Maroon on the Tampa Bay Lightning and Ji-man Choi on the Rays).
