So, Grubhub release their annual delivered report which looks at the national takeout trends and ordering habits of people this year. The most ordered side of 2023 was french fries. More than 600,000 Grubhub customers ordered a salad and a side of fries. There were 53 million items that were ordered ordered with spice this year. Sriracha was added over 91,000 times and Buffalo wings were the most ordered wing flavor. Additionally, lemon pepper and barbecue were the second and third most popular wing flavor. Finally, the top five spicy dishes ordered on Grubhub this past year are spicy potato soft tacos, spicy chicken sandwich, spicy tuna roll, hot and sour soup and drunken noodles.
There were some other big increases in 2023. Workplace orders of Diet Coke saw a 17% increase. Additionally, it was the number one soda ordered. It was followed by Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper and Ginger ale. Secondly, more than 10 million coffee beverages were ordered after 5 p.m. on Grubhub this past year. If you don’t order directly through a pizza place, then you can order through Grubhub. There was a 33% increase for orders with pineapple on their pizza this year. The most popular pizza orders were Cheese Margherita, Pepperoni, Buffalo Chicken and Hawaiian. Finally, they found that Pickles saw the largest increase since last year. There was an 89% increase in people ordering pickles for over 6.9 million pickles ordered in 2023.
