Hyde Park is a very popular place to live in the Tampa area and getting a home there is tough. The average home in Hyde Park is around $2.5M. This home located right in the heart of the historic area is listed at $379K. Why? Because it is super small. It's the tiniest home in the area.

The house is one of the last remaining homes of what was once the heart of Dobyville, which was a thriving neighborhood in Tampa during the the 1920s. Dobyville was eventually demolished because of the construction for the Crosstown Expressway, which is now called the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway.
According to records, the home last sold in 2002 for $108,000. The house is now asking $379,000, which comes out to $977 per square-foot. Over the last few years, it has mostly been used as a rental. It rents for $1,390 per month in 2020.

It is pretty cool that Florida is a great state for first time home buyers, but what are the worst cities for them? Well, nine of the Top 10 worst cities are in California. Additionally, the only non-California city is Anchorage, Alaska, which is #3. Berkeley, California is the #1 worst city followed by Santa Monica.
