Popular Sports Bar Coming To Downtown Tampa This December
A popular sports bar is coming to downtown Tampa this December. It will be Tampa Bay’s first of this franchise. Tampa Bay’s first Yard House will open on December 3. Additionally, it will be located at the new Water Street location at 450 Channelside Drive in Tampa. The Yard House was actually announced back in March 2022 and had set a date of October 2023 as the opening date. Finally, they eventually had to push the opening date back to December 3. The Tampa location will have 16,400-square-feet and will have over 100 on tap beers.
On their website here is what they say, “At Yard House, our passion for great draft beer, great food and great music runs deep. You’ll find the world’s largest selection of draft beer along with a delightfully inspired mouth-watering menu. It’s why we’re America’s favorite gathering place and we’re so stoked that you’re here.”
The History Of Yard House
The first Yard House restaurant opened up in 1996 in Southern California. They say their passion is for great beer, great food and great music. Additionally, you’ll find the worlds largest selection of draft beer. Finally, they also have a diverse menu that is inspired by their California roots.
The Yard House has over 80 locations nationwide. Before the location opens up in Tampa in December, the closest one is in Sarasota at University Town Center. There’s also one located in Orlando at ICON Park. There’s also one located in Naples and five more from West Palm Beach down to Miami on the east coast of Florida.

5 Restaurants That Need To Open Locations In Tampa
It’s no secret that we have some of the best dining options in the Tampa Bay area. And it seems like more and more companies are expanding to the southeast/Florida in general. But there are a handful of really great restaurants that are missing in our area. Whether it’s fast food or a sit-down restaurant, we think these restaurants need to make their way to Tampa.
One honorary mention that we left off the list is Del Taco. There’s a location in Orlando that we always stop at whenever we go to the theme parks or a concert. Earlier this year the news broke that the Tampa Bay area could possibly be getting several Del Taco locations. But things have been quiet since a press release went out earlier this year. Other big chains that have made their way to Tampa include Dave’s Hot Chicken, Dutch Bros (coming soon), Raising Cane’s, and a few others.
When you travel to other states do you try to stick with restaurants you know? Or are you willing to try something new? We’ve tried all the places on our list and have wished we would see a Tampa location open ever since. Even though we always try to eat at local restaurants in Tampa, sometimes it’s easier to order takeout or visit a drive-thru. One of the biggest requests in the Tampa area is In-N-Out. Although some may see the burger chain as over-hyped, we think a Tampa location would do really well. Any places we missed on our list?
