Giant Python Found In Florida Garage
A giant python was found in a Florida garage. Additionally, it was found lurking in the darkness. The python which is estimated to be 9 feet long was found right outside of a garage in Cape Coral earlier this week. The homeowner said, “and it scared us.” Yeah, I would have to think so. They noticed it because they had gone outside to throw something away when they noticed a very long shadow on the ground.
The homeowners tried to call someone to come out and trap the python, but had no luck. Even the FWC was unable to come out. So what did they end up doing? Well, the homeowner grabbed some neighbors and grabbed the python. He and two of his neighbors humanely killed the python. The homeowner said that’s what game officials told them to do.
Pythons are an invasive species in Florida. They are native to Southeast Asia but we were released into the wild into in the 1980’s and their population has grown ever since. They can grow up to 20 feet long and they are Apex predators. That means that they are at the top of the food chain and they pray on animals like birds and reptiles. Pythons have been devastating Florida ecosystem. The population of raccoons opossum and bobcats have declined by over 90% in some areas of the Everglades. The FWC has a program to control the population. The python challenge is one of those programs.
According to AZ Animals the population os Burmese Pythons in the state of Florida is over 300,000. That number rises every year. The largest python ever captured in Florida was over 18 feet long.

Here Is The Most Roach-Infested City In Florida
When it comes to roaches, I like calling them Palmetto bugs. Sounds classier right? If you live in Florida you have seen many roaches, but what city is the most infested? I live in St. Petersburg and it did not make this list. “Here is the most roach-infested city in Florida.” Can you guess the city? You will see below.
If you have roaches does it mean your home is dirty?
According to the National Pesticide Information Center, “Finding roaches is not a sign that your house is dirty. Even if you clean regularly and maintain a tidy home, cockroaches can usually find food and water without much trouble. This allows them to thrive in many environments.”
Roaches have been on this earth for over 200 years. The common cockroach can survive forces up to 900 times greater than its own body weight. Roaches can also squeeze through openings. On top of all of this their reproduction abilities, are very quick. These are all the reasons roaches are hard to eliminate. Roach infestations are most common in summer months because they thrive in hot temperatures!
Funny Roach story
I once went to a guy’s house and woke up to a roach in my wig. I felt so dirty! He apologized but at that point, I was already disgusted. His house was actually not dirty, so I don’t know why there was a roach in my wig.
Have you ever been in a situation like this? Is a person having roaches in their home a deal breaker? I want to hear your stories! Feel free to email me at Babs@wild941.com. As you read above, someone having roaches in their home doesn’t necessarily mean their house is dirty.
Below are the 5 most roach-infested cities in the United States. The results below are based on a survey done by the American Housing Association.
