Wedding registries are now being used in a new way. Some couples don’t want traditional gifts anymore. There is a new study from Zillow Home Loans and The Knot. The study found that couples want money to help with a down payment on their first home. They would rather have the money than traditional wedding gifts. 20% of all couples registered on The Knot are asking for money. The study also found couples have been including home funds on their wedding registries and that is up 55% since 2018. Honeymoon fund is still the number one most popular wedding registry cash fund on The Knot.

Secondly, home funds is right behind honeymoon fund. Zillow is included in this research because they say that between 10 and 19% is put down by first time home buyers. They also say that between 2018 and 2022 first time home buyers were twice as likely to report using gift funds for their down payment. Just this year 43% of couples reported using gift funds as a source of at least part of their down payment.

The Most Popular Months To Get Married

43% of weddings that took place in 2022 happened between September and November. The most popular month to get married is October. Additionally, September comes in second and June is in third. Following that is a tie with July and August fourth place. Finally, there is also a tie in fifth place between May and November. March is the most popular month to get married in in Florida. That is because the weather is perfect for outdoor weddings. Saturday is the most popular day for couples to get married on. Finally, wedding registries are now being used in a new way. So, if you see home funds on a wedding registry, just know that it’s going to a down payment on their first house.

 

 

10 Most Popular Songs On Wedding Playlists

Here are the 10 most popular songs on wedding playlists.   When you attend a wedding there are certain songs that you can expect to dance to during the wedding reception.  A survey of over 1,000 wedding playlists on Spotify found the 10 most popular songs.

Firstly, on the wedding day, the guests are excited to get on the dance floor.  The bride and groom made their entrance, the best man gave his speech and dinner served, it’s time to dance.  A fun time for the guests.  Time to kick off the heels, unloosen the tie and get down on the dance floor.  Sometimes the bride and groom get a band and sometimes its a wedding DJ.  If a wedding DJ is hired, you hope they have discussed the reception songs.  Secondly, a bride and groom usually will sit down with their DJ and make a plan for the night.  Both, picking out their favorite songs to dance to.

Thirdly, to determine the most popular songs, 100,000 Spotify playlists were looked at that contained different wedding-related search terms.  Those terms included: “wedding”, “first dance”, “wedding party”, “wedding music”, “just married” and more.

Most Emotional Wedding Songs

Finally, the Study also found the most emotional wedding songs.  Coming in at number 5 is Marry You by Bruno Mars.  Number 4 is also another song by Bruno Mars –  Uptown Funk.   The third most emotional song is Marry Me by Train.  I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston comes in 2nd place.  The number one most emotional wedding song from Spotify playlists was Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.

    “Yeah!” is a song by Usher featuring Lil Jon (who also produced the song) and Ludacris.  The song was released as the lead single from Usher’s fourth studio album Confessions on January 10, 2004.  “Yeah!” topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for 12 consecutive weeks.  “Yeah!” was the longest-running number one single in 2004.

    “Shut Up and Dance“ is a song by Walk the Moon from their third studio album Talking Is Hard (2014).  It was written by the band members and a couple of songwriters.   The song is based on an experience lead singer Nicholas Petricca had at a Los Angeles nightclub. His girlfriend invited him to dance, inspiring the title. 

  • 5. Perfect - Ed Sheeran

    “Perfect” is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran from his third studio album.  The song is a romantic ballad focusing on traditional marriage, written about his wife-to-be Cherry Seaborn, whom he knew from school and then reconnected with when she was working in New York.

    Thinking Out Loud” is a song by Ed Sheeran recorded for his second studio album.    It was released in the US on 24 September 2014 as the album’s third single.  In October 2015, the song became the first to be streamed over 500 million times on Spotify and has been viewed more than 3.6 billion times.
