Why not go to a river if you want to add more excitement to your trip into the great outdoors? These historic rivers have become recognizable landmarks in their respective areas as a result of the breathtaking scenery and diverse array of activities that they offer. You could go swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, or kayaking, and you could even watch wildlife. These are just some of the available activities. Florida's best river is only a short drive north of Tampa!

The majesty of the river's currents aren't the only thing that pulls people there. The surrounding settings have the potential to infuse it with a much greater sense of life, whether it be the dense forests and mountain peaks in the background or the distinctive characteristics that you might not find anyplace else.

Shermans Travel has compiled a list of the top rivers to visit in each state, and anyone interested in going on a river excursion may want to have a look at it. The writers say that the Crystal River is Florida's best river. Located in Citrus County.

And here's why:

"This majestic Florida river, which is home to dozens of manatees, features clear-blue waters and warm weather all year long. It's especially popular in the winter, when nearly 400 manatees migrate here from the Gulf of Mexico."

The science:

The Nature Coast of Florida centers around Crystal River. The city is located around Kings Bay, which maintains a year-round temperature of 72 °F (22 °C) due to spring-fed water Kings Bay is fed by 50 first-magnitude springs. First-magnitude systems release 100 cubic feet or more of water per second, or 64 million gallons per day. Crystal River Springs is Florida's second largest springs group after Wakulla Springs in Wakulla County near Tallahassee due to its discharge. When the Gulf of Mexico cools in winter, Kings Bay can house over 400 manatees. It's the only place in the US where people can legally interact with them in their natural habitat without being harassed by law enforcement. (Wikipedia)
