Watch Black Bear Enjoy Florida Yacht Club
A black bear was spotted on a boat at a Florida Yacht Club. Firstly, the black bear was spotted on a docked boat at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club. The bear was seen by several people and there is video of the bear. Todd Dillman, the owner of TowBoat U.S. Naples-Marco Island took the video of the bear. He told NBC 2 in Naples, “We were kind of blown away that there was a bear in Royal Harbor.” He added, “It was pretty incredible.”
Secondly, wildlife officers were called to the scene and eventually got the black bear back onto land. Black bears are not uncommon in Florida, but it is rare to see them in urban areas. Experts say that the black bear was probably looking for food. Additionally, they advise people to keep their trash cans secure and to avoid leaving food out in the open. If you see a bear, it is important to stay calm and back away slowly. Finally, do not feed the bear or try to approach it. If the bear appears to be aggressive, contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission immediately.
