Nate Smith’s Inspirational Musical Journey Summed Up In 10 Seconds
Photo credit: Sony RecordsNate Smith's inspirational musical journey summed up in 10 seconds. We got to talk with new country artist Nate Smith and as always J.R. from Tampa Bays Morning Krewe gave him a stellar introduction. J.R. was able to sum up Nate Smith's inspirational musical journey in 10 seconds. Nate was impressed and asked if we could do all of his intros for him.
Nate just performed in Orlando at the Amway Center. He is on tour with Cole Swindell and Thomas Rhett for the Home Team Tour 23. Going out with Thomas has been a fun time for Nate. Taking notes and learning a lot from the guys who have been add it a little longer than he has. He confessed to stealing ideas from Cole on stage. Recently, jumped on stage with Rhett at was dressed up beer keg to play a joke on him.
What Is The Coolest Thing He Has Experienced
Nate released his new album Nate Smith and we told him all the songs we love like Bad Memory and Wreckage. Launa then asked Nate what is the coolest thing that he has got to experience. Of all of the things like hearing his song on radio or hearing fans sing your songs back, he said it was meeting Keith Urban. Launa couldn't agree more. Smith explained that Keith came up to him one night and expressed his love for his music and his song and Nate was blown away that Keith even knew who he was. He said it was such an honor and a highlight to his career.
Radio 101
We joked with Nate and thanked him for his longer intros. Radio people love songs with longer intros on them. That gives time to talk about the song or the artist before the song plays. The new single "World On Fire" has a 15 second intro, which means, music plays for 15 seconds before he starts singing. Unlike songs like Jelly Roll's Need a Favor have a zero second intro. Singing starts right away on the first note, so we don't have lots of options to talk about him when his songs plays. Normally, radio stations don't stop the music to talk. Little Radio 101 there.
Nate will be back in the area on November 10th at The Sound with Chris Young. Then he will hit the road with Morgan Wallen next year and be in Tampa on July 11th and 12th.

Thomas Rhett: 14 Songs That Show Why He Is A Superstar
Thomas Rhett celebrates his 33rd birthday today (3/30) and is also celebrating the first anniversary of his Where We Started album on Saturday (4/1). Thomas reflects on where he and his wife Lauren started over a decade ago.
Rhett told us, "Just kinda looking back at the last decade of our lives … Shoot, 2012, when I was playing 600 shows a year, and Lauren was with me on the tour bus with nine other dudes, it felt like we were never going to get out of that. And my wife, being like, 'Man, how many times have we been to Wisconsin this year?'"
He continued, "I wake up now, and I'm like, we have four children; so much has changed in my career from just success to bigger rooms to getting to do neat collaborations with people. And sometimes you wake up, and you're like, man, today is tough. And you look back at your past, and you're like, yeah, but think about where we were. And I think whether you do music, or whatever you do, I think anyone can look back at their past, and be like man, looking at where we are now, compared to where we were, the future looks pretty bright."
