This week, a dog that had been lost on Colorado's Eastern Plains for more than a month was reunited with his Florida owner. According to KDVR, In August, while driving from Oregon to Florida with his dog, Radar, Tyler Goldsmith reportedly dozed off and crashed his automobile on Interstate 70 close to Limon. Florida dog found in Colorado.

Police took Radar to a neighbouring town while the driver was flown to the hospital. Unfortunately, the animal was able to escape from the police.

"When he got to Limon, the cops were trying to transfer him over to another police officer to get him to the pound, and that's when he escaped," recounted Goldsmith. Five days after leaving the hospital, Goldsmith travelled to Limon in search of his missing dog.

After a two-day search that turned up nothing, the owner made the "heartbreaking" decision to return to Florida without Radar.

"I was devastated to leave," he admitted.

Then, the good news happened:

An glimmer of optimism materialized in the shape of the Facebook group "i70 Corridor Lost & Found Pets, Eastern CO." The group members spent weeks looking for the dog once they learned about the predicament. On a farm property 25 miles north of Limon, the crew managed to capture Radar last Tuesday, September 19.

Karen Storie told reporters, "I hopped out of bed and started getting dressed the minute I saw him on the trail cam at 1:30 (in the morning), because I knew he was going to go in the trap." "Everyone involved is pretty emotional about it."

To give Radar back to Goldsmith, who expressed his gratitude for their efforts, the group hired a private company. Finally, the Florida dog found in Colorado, would be returned.

In a Facebook post, the crew expressed their joy with the heartwarming reunion, writing: "Weeks and many hours by numerous VOLUNTEERS has resulted in RADAR being trapped. He is now safe after 40 days of frightened racing through the plains.
