The Drunkest City In Florida Is Crowned For 2023
Researchers have been speculating for some time now that there may be an issue with drinking in the United States. According to the findings of a national survey conducted in 2021 by the National Institute of Health, more than 6% of American adults reported engaging in significant alcohol use within the previous month. That amounts to more than 16 million people who could have put themselves in harm’s way at the time in question. Statistics such as these help shine light on significant problems that have been plaguing the country for a long time, such as alcohol use disorder and drunk driving. But what about the drunkest Florida city?
Using which data?
Because of this, 24/7 Wall St. was able to determine which city in each state has the most alcohol consumption. The researchers “examined the percentage of men and women over the age of 18 in each state’s metropolitan areas who reported engaging in heavy or binge drinking.” In the 2022 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a joint program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, data at the metropolitan area level was aggregated from data at the county level.
The research indicates that the North Port metropolitan region is the most intoxicated city in all of Florida. Both Sarasota and Bradenton are included in this as the drunkest Florida city. In addition, analysts presented data to substantiate the city’s position on the list.
How does Florida compare to the rest of the United States?
