Florida: What Is The Most Popular Car In The State?
J.D. Power recently published a report that provides information on the most common car that is sold in each state. The most popular car in Florida happens to be a sedan.
There are numerous factors involved in deciding what car you want to buy. The most common purchasing decisions include budget, insurance costs, occupation, and family size. “By looking at the most popular vehicles sold by the state, you can get a better idea of what car models are well-suited for your state’s unique geography and culture,” J.D. Power says.
Forbes recently explained how car ownership has increased by 3.66% between 2017 – 2021. Furthermore, “Most U.S. households (91.7%) had at least one vehicle in 2021 (the latest data available), and 22.1% of households had three or more vehicles,” the Forbes piece explains.
In J.D. Power’s feature, they show a pickup truck to be the top choice in 26 different states. Of those, 16 states preferred the Ford F-150 truck. The remaining 14 are a mix of sedans and SUV’s. In Florida, the trustworthy car takes the crown.
Toyota Corolla
Surprisingly, Florida was the only state aligned to the Toyota Corolla being the top choice. “With the hot and humid climate in the state, drivers are looking for a reliable and efficient vehicle that can handle the high temperatures and heavy traffic in cities like Miami and Orlando,” J.D. Power explains.
The Corolla has many other advantages. These include being very fuel efficient, compact, and easy to handle. This vehicle is affordable as well. Furthermore, Toyota recently started offering an EV hybrid model of the Corolla. This is the biggest change in the Corolla line, which has generally stayed consistent (since it was first introduced in 1966).
Currently, the standard model Corolla comes in 14 different color options. The starting (base) price lists at $21,700. It has an estimated gas mileage expectation of 35 mpg.
Toyota defines the most popular car in Florida today as, “legendary reliability and innovative technology make Corolla a name you can trust to get you through every day.”

Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys
This two-lane bridge is technically part of Route 1. It’s a magical gateway into the Florida Keys. Mr. Hudson points out, “the Seven Mile Bridge usually has space for sightseers to park up and admire the Florida Keys.” In 1982, a heavy renovation made the lanes wider, allowing for a safer and more comfortable drive. The last annual seven-mile bridge run took place this past April.
