A woman in Florida is facing charges because police say she put roach spray in a man's drink. A Facebook post says that Veronica Cline, 29, from DeLeon Springs, was caught by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office after a K-9 unit found her. But why would this woman spikes man's drink with roach spray.

More to the story...

An arrest document received by WKMG says that deputies went to a home on Wheeler Street in DeLeon Springs at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18, and spoke with the victim, who is the father of Cline's kid. The victim said that Cline called him while she was on her way home from a bar and asked him to keep drinking with her.

The victim told the sheriff's office that he had two drinks before he started to feel sick. According to the statement, that's when Cline told him she had put Raid in both of his drinks.

After being sick for about 30 minutes, the victim was able to call for help, but while talking to officers, he got sick again. After that, he was taken to a hospital for care, according to the deputies. As of Monday morning (August 21), there was no news about his health.

Since Cline wasn't in the house when the police came, they sent out a K-9 unit to find her. Once they did, they took her into jail without any trouble. VSO also showed body camera video of her arrest. The 29-year-old was hiding in some thick bushes when the K-9 found her.

Cline was charged with poisoning food or drink and put in the Volusia County Branch Jail without a bail.

We got this information from Neighborhood Scout. Their analysis includes crimes reported by all agencies. They studied cities with 25,000 or more people, based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Data used for this research are:
