Nicole honors her Pasco County Fire Rescue husband for First Responder Friday this week. John is Nicole’s husband and he has been with Pasco County for 16 years. He started out as an EMT and has worked his way up to become a driver/paramedic.

Two Florida Cities Rank In Top 10 Of The Best Places To Live

Two Florida cities rank in Top 10 of the best places to live in the U.S. The report comes from U.S. News & World Report. The list is the 150 biggest metro areas in the U.S. They look at housing affordability, quality of life, growth and safety to come up with the list. This list is for 2023-2024.

According to the U.S. News and World Report website they tell us why the do the report. It says, “U.S. News & World Report’s Best Places to Live rankings are intended to help readers make the most informed decision when choosing where to settle down. Metro areas in the rankings are evaluated using data from sources including the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. News’ own internal resources.”

Of the 150 biggest metro areas in the U.S. two Florida cities rank in the Top 10 of the best places to live. Sarasota comes in at #5 and Naples comes in at #6. Tampa is in the Top 25 coming in at #24. Here is what they say about Tampa, “Residents of the Tampa Bay area enjoy both a laid-back beach lifestyle and the amenities of a large metropolitan area, including professional sports teams, museums, and an array of entertainment and dining options.”

The only other city near Tampa on the list is Lakeland and it came in at #105.

  • Green Bay, WI

    Yes, the home of the Packers is the #1 city to live in. Between December and February the average high temperature is below 37 degrees. The value of living ranks high for Green Bay.

  • Huntsville, AL

    Nicknamed “The Rocket City” because of its close association with U.S. space missions. Huntsville also ranks high for value of living.

  • Raleigh & Durham, NC

    Located only 25 miles apart in central North Carolina. The report says, “This tri-city region (known as the Triangle) is luring new residents every day with strong job growth and high quality of life.”

     

  • Boulder, CO

    Known for their outdoor activities and award-winning breweries Boulder comes in #4 on the list. It is located northwest of Denver.

  • Sarasota

    “People who choose Sarasota as their home are generally called by its unique charm.” That’s what the report says about Sarasota. There is a strong desire to live in Sarasota.

  • Naples

    The second Florida city in the Top 10 makes the list at #6. Many people are moving to Naples due to the desirability of living in Naples.

  • Portland, ME

    Beautiful waterfront views make Portland, Maine #7 on the list. Portland ranks high on the list for quality of living.

  • Charlotte, NC

    Do you know that Charlotte is the second largest banking hub behind New York City? Because of that Charlotte’s population continues to grow. Charlotte comes in at #8 on the list.

  • Colorado Springs

    It is the second largest city in Colorado and has beautiful views of Pike’s Peak. They are known for the Garden of the Gods, which is a massive National Natural Landmark.

  • Fayetteville, AR

    Fayetteville, Arkansas is #10 on the list. They say, “The area known as Northwest Arkansas is the birthplace of Walmart, the headquarters of Tyson Foods and the home of the University of Arkansas, the flagship campus of the U of A system.”
