Bed Bath & Beyond has been struggling for a few years, and yesterday we heard, the battle to stay open is over. This time, there's no restructuring or closing stores. They are all closing.
The store began in 1971 as Bed 'n Bath. The first store was in New Jersey. It became Bed Bath & Beyond in 1987 and by the late '90s, it started becoming a mainstream big box store. They introduced the Big Blue coupons then. Even though they had an expiration date on them, cashiers would still let you use your coupon. The store was making money and around 2011 there were more than 1,100 stores. Their troubles started in 2019. The pandemic was horrible for the chain and they never recovered after that. So many people had to resort to buying online during the pandemic and now shoppers are sticking to online shopping at stores like Amazon.

Firstly, they are still letting you use their 20% off coupons, but they will only good only be good through tomorrow. After that, they will be useless. Secondly, they are liquidating everything so there will be huge discounts and going-out-of-business sales all all remaining stores.
