Salad kits at Florida Publix stores recalled.
Salad kits sold in Publix stores here in Florida have been recalled due to listeria concerns. This is according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Fresh Express Incorporated salad kits were found to have listeria during a random sample test by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. The salad kits are no longer on shelves and have already expired. However, they were sold to retail stores across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Anyone who has them in their home should toss them out immediately.
It should be noted, there have been no serious illnesses due to the kits, Listeria can have severe symptoms. Not only like high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, but also, abdominal pain, and diarrhea among healthy individuals. However, infections can be deadly in children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.
