However, Water Street Tampa, a new neighborhood in Florida, is bucking this trend by including 13th floors in some of its buildings. The nearby Edition hotel does not have a marked 13th floor, while The Nolen, a luxury residential building in St. Petersburg, is set to include a 13th floor. Despite the superstition surrounding the number 13, some people believe it is time to do something different.
The younger generation is reportedly less concerned with superstition, and developers are starting to prioritize uniformity in floor numbering for safety, emergency response, and mail delivery. As the spokesperson for Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, Adam Smith, said, “I don’t believe in witches and I don’t believe in spells and I don’t believe in much superstition at all”. TBT
