See Mercury Jupiter Venus Uranus And Mars This Week
See Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, and Mars Lining Up Near Moon This Week! This week offers a great opportunity to witness a spectacular celestial event over Tampa Bay. Five planets will line up near the moon. You can catch this amazing sight on Tuesday by looking to the western horizon right after sunset.
According to NASA astronomer Bill Cooke, the planets will stretch from the horizon line to around halfway up the night sky. The five-planet spread can be seen from anywhere on Earth, as long as you have clear skies and a view of the west. You should try to be quick to spot Mercury and Jupiter as they will quickly dip below the horizon around half an hour after sunset.
Jupiter, Venus, and Mars will be pretty easy to spot as they shine brightly. Venus will be one of the brightest things in the sky, and Mars will be hanging out near the moon with a reddish glow. Spotting Mercury and Uranus could be trickier as they will be dimmer, and you may need a pair of binoculars.
This is a rare chance to spot Uranus, which is usually not visible. Look out for its green glow just above Venus. Different numbers and groups of planets line up in the sky from time to time, and this kind of alignment happens when the planets’ orbits line them up on one side of the sun from Earth’s perspective. So, keep an eye to the sky this week, and don’t miss the chance to witness this stunning planetary hangout! TBT
