I-4 Among 3 Florida Roads That Are The Most Deadliest In The US
I-4 is among three Florida roads that are among the most deadliest in the US. The list comes from Find By Plate, which looked at all the roads in the nation. They say on their website, “But drivers are not the only ones to blame for traffic fatalities. There are roads, both in busy cities and remote parts of the country, that are hazardous and rack up a sizeable number of fatalities each year.”
Of the 28 roads they researched, three Florida roads made the list and one road is #1. I-4 is one of the most deadliest roads in the US and it comes in at #3. They say, “With 1.41 fatalities per mile, the 132-mile Interstate-4 between Daytona Beach and Tampa is regularly listed among the deadliest highways in America. The AAA believes this is because the I-4 runs through Orlando which is a tourist hotspot. As a result, there are many rental car drivers on this stretch of road that are prone to distracted driving.”
The other two Florida roads are I-95, which comes in at #17. The #1 road is right here in Florida and it is US Route 1. That road runs down the east coast all the way down the Keys.

Three Florida Roads Are The Worst In The Country
We are not surprised that three roads in Florida made the list of the worst in the country. It seems like we sit in traffic way too much, and after reading this story, well, you’ll be surprised at how much time you loose sitting in traffic.
Found this story from WFLA.com and it was from a study that was done in 2021 from the Vacationer website.
We all know that I-4 is the worst. I-4 hits its biggest slog time in the area between Beachline Expressway to Florida State Road 429, which is a loss of 74 hours per year stuck on the road and unable to go. If you have to travel a lot around Orlando, then you probably lose even more hours, especially if you’re traveling on US-17 South. Another road that makes the top 10. I-95 in Miami also makes the list, the worst part being on I-95 South from I-195 to 51st Street, where you will lose 57 hours.
Well…it’s a lot in Florida, but it’s not L.A. traffic which is absolutely the worse. I-5 South in L.A comes in at #1 on the list.
