Beach safety and beyond Indian Rocks beach and Belleair. Fire Chief Jeffrey Davidson, Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue District to hold informative presentation on emergency services and improvement. As residents and visitors to the beaches and surrounding areas, it’s important to feel safe and secure in our homes and during leisure activities. However, as noted in a 2008 report by the County, there are significant deficiencies in emergency response times in several areas, particularly Northern Indian Rocks Beach, Belleair Beach, and Belleair Shore.
Residents pay the County for emergency services. But has the County kept up with properly funding service? Are we leaving many without access to timely emergency care? Fear not, the Fire Chief has a solution, and will be holding an informative presentation on the improvement of emergency services and the addition of a new Fire Station on the Indian Rocks Beach/Belleair Beach border.
This solution not only drastically improves response times, but provides for sufficient emergency personnel available on the beaches, and allows for the Fire Department to transport residents and visitors to the emergency room when private ambulance companies are delayed. This results in quicker transport and continuity of care, which leads to increased outcomes for all.
The meeting will take place at Belleair Beach City Hall, located at 444 Causeway Boulevard, Belleair Beach, FL 33786, on Monday, February 27th at 6:00 p.m. We encourage all residents and community leaders to attend and learn about the proposed solution to the current emergency services deficiencies.
