New country artist, Megan Moroney called into the show today. We’ve never talked or met her before so we had lots to talk about. We asked her about the country artist who discovered her at the sorority party she was performing at.
What Country Artist Discovered Megan Moroney At College Party
Moroney was at the University of Georgia studying to be an accountant. While at school she became known as the country music singer of the sorority she was a part of. Megan was performing at her sorority house for a Charity event and Chase Rice happened to be there. Rice invited her to come open up for him at the Georgia Theater if she writes her own song. So she did
After that sold-out show, she decided to change her major. By the end of her freshman year, she asked her parents if she could move to Nashville.
She stuck it out and got her degree before officially making the move to Nashville in 2020. Her debut single “Wonder” was released the following year.
Fast forward, her album Pistol Made Of Roses is out now and her song Tennessee Orange is blowing up on the charts.
She told us about some great advice she got once…and that was to say yes to everything you can. Try everything when you’re first starting out in the business and never give up an opportunity.
She also told us when Kelsea Ballerini saw her at an event and surprised her by saying she was a fan of hers. She has also gotten to know others in the business who have been helping her along the way.
