Meet World’s Oldest Dog 217 In People Years
Meet world’s oldest dog. Almost 217 in people years. Bobi, a 30-year-old Portuguese dog, has been crowned the world’s oldest dog ever by the Guinness World Records (GWR). This title surpasses the previous record held by an Australian cattle dog named Bluey, who lived for 29 years and 5 months. Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, has lived in Conqueiros, a small Portuguese village, for over three decades. You meet him in the video below AND below that see 66 other pet Puppies (so cute) from the Puppy Bowl.

Leonel Costa, Bobi’s owner, shares that Bobi was almost not given a chance to live past infancy. Costa’s father, a hunter, decided that the family already had too many animals and intended to bury the puppies. However, Costa and his brothers noticed that the mother dog, Gira, continued to visit the woodshed and upon investigation, found Bobi safely hidden in a pile of logs. They kept Bobi a secret from their parents until his eyes opened.
Bobi’s long life is attributed to his diet of unseasoned human food, his freedom to roam unleashed in the forests and farmland near his home, and the calm countryside in which he grew up. In addition, Costa believes that the love and affection that Bobi has received throughout his life has also played a role in his longevity. Apart from one health scare in 2018, Bobi has lived a relatively healthy life. Smithsonian
