The National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) has created a database of UFO sightings around the country. According to it, Tampa has had 251 UFO sightings. Here's where it gets interesting. The website FloridaBet.com did some fancy number crunching and came up with the most common times during the day when you can see UFO's in Tampa. Check it out:

  • 10 p.m. – 11 sightings
  • 9:30 p.m. – 9 sightings

FloridaBet.com also found the most common days for these possible extraterrestrial sightings. In Tampa those days are Jan. 1, April 18, May 6, and Sept. 7.

If you believe that we are not alone, then check out the NUFORC database. You'll be surprised at how many UFO sightings there are in Tampa Bay and in the Sunshine State. There has been recent activity in Largo, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg. The truth is out there. Now go find it! [SOURCE News Channel 8]

U.S. Special Operations Command Demonstration

It was quite the site today at the Tampa Convention Center as the U.S. Special Operations Command performed a demonstration to show their military preparedness for hostile situations.

This was a demonstration of capabilities featuring simulated explosions, simulated gunfire and low-flying aircraft. It's part of the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference and included more than 175 SOCOM and international service members from 11 nations. The river event had helicopters, boats, all-terrain vehicles, scuba divers and ground forces were used to “rescue” a city official from “hostile” forces.
