Jay Leno suffers burns after working on car in garage. He says he is going to be ok, but needs a few weeks to rest.
Anyone who knows Jay Leno, knows that he loves cars. He has one of the biggest car collections. Many TV shows have filmed his collection and Jay is knows as “The Car Guy”. He has a show called Leno’s Garage
His fans were surprised that he was badly burned while working on his car.
More details are coming out about the Accident that happened in his garage.
He tells “TMZ” that he was working on his 1907 White Steam Car in his garage this past Saturday fixing a clogged fuel line. There was a fuel leak, and gasoline sprayed on his face and hands. Almost simultaneously a spark triggered an explosion, setting the comedian on fire. Jay’s friend Dave was there and quickly put out the fire and rescued Jay. He now has third degree burns and may need a skin graft.
Leno hosted “The Tonight Show” on NBC from 1992 to 2009, and again from 2010 to 2014 after poor ratings. During Leno’s tenure, the show landed nine Emmy Award nominations for outstanding variety series; it won once, in 2005.
After Leno officially retired from “The Tonight Show” in 2014, he began hosting “Jay Leno’s Garage,” an Emmy-winning web series about cars — inspired by his side passion — that landed a prime-time spot on CNBC in 2015. He said in a news release at the time that the show would be “about anything that rolls, explodes and makes noise,” and would “highlight the passion and the stories behind the men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th century.”
This could have been so serious. A fire could have broke out and burned down this entire garage full of expensive cars and really hurt Jay. Thankfully his friend was there to put out the fire and help him. He is in stable condition and is doing well now.
