Jerry Lee Lewis passed away last week (10/28) in DeSoto, Mississippi, at the age of 87. Nicknamed "The Killer," his 1957 hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" catapulted Jerry Lee to global fame. He followed with hits including "Great Balls Of Fire" and "Breathless."

Darius Rucker told us he met the rockabilly legend, and it was a moment he'll never forget. "I got to meet Jerry Lee once, and it was one of the great nights of my life, sitting and having drinks with Jerry Lee Lewis."

He added, "He was one of the funniest people I've ever been around, and what he did for music. Jerry Lee did it his way, and that's all that mattered to him. And the great thing is he did it his way and was a legend. The Killer's gonna be missed, man. That's really sad."

Public memorial services for Jerry Lee Lewis will be held this weekend in Hernando, Mississippi, as well as in his birthplace, Ferriday, Louisiana.

Darius also took part in Loretta Lynn's memorial on Sunday night (10/30) in Nashville, honoring the country music icon's memory by singing one of her classic songs, "Fist City" and sharing with the crowd at the Grand Ole Opry House stories about Lynn.

Meanwhile, Rucker will make his return as an actor during tonight's episode of Big Sky: Deadly Trails on ABC. In the role of Possum, Rucker guest stars as a hired gun who works at night partnering with expert tracker Tex (Lyle Lovett), for better or worse, on this particular job. It centers around private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury), undersheriff Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick), and newly appointed sheriff Beau Arlen (Jensen Ackles) as they maintain order in Helena, Montana.

Big Sky: Deadly Trails features a local backcountry trip led by Sunny Barnes (Reba McEntire). Big Sky airs at 10 PM ET on ABC.
