This Florida Police Department Just Swore In A Special Officer
This Florida Police Department has just sworn in a very special officer. The newest addition to the force will be going above and beyond to serve the community.
Officer Magic has joined the Ocala Police Department as an honorary police officer. Magic has four legs and stands two feet tall. Yes, she is a miniature horse.
Magic isn’t your ordinary miniature horse. She has been specially trained to provide emotional support to people in times of need. “Magic will help spread goodwill and build relationships between the police department and the community we serve,” Chief Mike Balken said. “With her friendly personality and adorable appearance, Magic is sure to be a hit with everyone she meets.”
You can see Officer Magic making the rounds at police headquarters, and as you can see, everyone loves her!
Welcome, Officer Magic! Magic is part of an award-winning nonprofit organization called, Gentle Carousel—one of the largest #equine therapy programs in the world. Officer Magic will occasionally work on some of our outreach programs. We're happy to announce this new partnership! pic.twitter.com/CM0YREcLzc

The nonprofit organization, Gentle Carousel, has partnered with the Ocala Police Department to make Officer Magic a member of the force. Gentle Carousel’s miniature horses “bring their special love to thousands of adults and children each year.” Their emotional support helps those who have experienced traumatic events.
