Tampa Bay’s Hometown Morning Krewe

Weekdays 6:00AM - 10:00AM

This is a very interesting tour that is coming to Tampa.  A little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll.

If you haven’t heard, Brantley Gilbert and Five Finger Death Punch are coming to Tampa.  They made the announcement today.  The show is November 22nd at Amalie Arena.  Fan club pre-sales for both artists start at 10am on Tuesday, August 16. All other pre-sales begin at 10 am on Thursday, August 18. Tickets go on general on sale at 10am on Friday, August 19.

I heard the two of them were going to tour a few months ago and then I hadn’t heard anything about it, I actually forgot about it until today.

You’re probably saying – wow, what a weird tour?  Why would those two bands tour together?   This is a very interesting tour that is coming to Tampa.

For those of you who don’t know, Five Finger Death Punch is a heavy active rock band.  And they are probably one heavier bands played on rock stations.  Think Avenge Sevenfold, Disturbed, Slipknot.

So why in the world would these two tour together?  I was thinking about it and what I think is that they both support the men and women who protect this country.   Brantley Gilbert’s fans know how much he supports our military.  He has written many songs about hero’s, he has been inspired by hero’s and he gives back any time he can to those who have served.  Five Finger, does the same.  They raise money to help with PTSD through their merchandise, Their affection for veterans earned them the Soldier Appreciation Award from the Association of the United States Army and dog tags donated from their military-veteran fans to adorn their “Wall of Heroes”.    Plus, they love meeting men and women who not only serve our country, but our first responders as well.

Five Finger Death Punch Takes Time To Meet First Responders

My fiancé is on the SWAT team and when Five Finger was here a few years ago with Breaking Benjamin, they wanted a chance to meet the guys on the team that were out working that night at the Amphitheatre.  So after the show they invited the guys backstage to hang out.

FFDP and Swat team

Even though they love to head bang and they are loud, they are a bunch of really great guys.  Years ago, I had the chance to interview them and I’ve seen them in concert a handful of times.  Five Finger Death Punch has a huge following, their fans are loyal.  Well respected in the rock genre.

I think the Five Finger Fans will love Brantley Gilbert.  He rocks out and since he’s full of tattoo’s, he looks cool too.

But, Will Brantley Gilbert Fans Accept Five Finger Death Punch On Stage?

Will the country fans accept Five Finger at the show? In my opinion, I think they will check them out and give then a chance. At least a few songs.  If the boys mix it up and stay on stage together throughout the show, I think everyone will love it.   If you love rock music like I do…yeah, you’ll hang, cuz they are fun to watch on stage, whether you know their music or not, it’s a good show.  Here is a song they did together along with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Brian May – it’s really good!!!

This is just my opinion by the way – Launa

The Sunniest Cities In The United States

A list of the sunniest cities in the United States is out. Three Florida cities have made the Top 25 list, but only Key West is in the Top 10.

Moving.com has compiled this list and they have evaluated the number of sunny days major U.S. cities enjoy each year. They also used the median listing home price, cost of living, and other important factors.

The Florida cities that are on the list are: Key West #8, Miami #18, Tampa #22.

Phoenix is the #1 city on the list of the sunniest cities in the United States.

Check out the Top 10 below.

  • 1 - Phoenix, Arizona

“The sun shines 85 percent of the time in Phoenix, making it the sunniest city in the nation. But that sunshine means heat in the Valley of the Sun. The metro area experiences an average 110 days with triple digit heat.”

  • 2 - Tucson, Arizona

Less than a two-hour drive south of Phoenix, the city of Tucson also enjoys the sun roughly 85 percent of the time, too. Because the two cities are close, they share a similar climate. Tucson is usually a few degrees cooler in the summer, though.”

  • 3 - Las Vegas, Nevada

Despite the sun, it doesn’t get as hot as Phoenix and Tucson. Historically, the city sees only 18 days with a heat index of more than 100 degrees.”

  • 4 - El Paso, Texas

The median list home price is $249,000, approximately half of the average national sales price of $507,800. And residents enjoy a cost of living that is 10 percent below the national average. Add to that El Paso is one of the safest cities in the country.”

  • 5 - Reno, Nevada

While the city boasts sunshine 81 percent of the time, it has a moderate climate. Temperatures range from 49 degrees in January to 94 degrees in July. Depending on the season, residents spend their days hiking, kayaking, and skiing.”

  • 6 - Pueblo, Colorado

Its cost of living is 12 percent below the national average and the median sold price for a home is $267,000. Plus, you can enjoy that sunshine hiking, biking, and kayaking nearby. There are opportunities for fly-fishing and golfing, too.”

  • 7 - Sacramento, California

Sacramento sees the sun 265 days of the year, or roughly 77 percent of the time. During the summer, high temperatures usually reach the 90s. But the capital of California experiences close to 50 percent humidity, which adds to the heat.”

  • 8 - Key West, Florida

Sunny days and a laid-back, island vibe entice many people to move to Key West. But it’s not cheap to live here. The cost of living is 43 percent above the national average. You’ll pay an average $871,500 for a house.”

  • 9 - Flagstaff, Arizona

Surrounded by pine trees and mountains, Flagstaff doesn’t fit the stereotypical image of Arizona. But like Phoenix and Tucson, it gets a lot of sun. On average, the sun shines 76 percent of the time in the city. If you move here, you’ll experience all four seasons. “

  • 10 - Fresno, California

Fresno sees the sun 76 percent of the time. That’s more than Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Unlike those cities, Fresno remains affordable. The cost of living is 1 percent higher than the national average, and the median home sales price is $332,000.”

  • 18 - Miami, Florida

Humidity goes hand-in-hand with Miami’s sunshine. While average temperatures climb to 87 degrees in August, the humidity ranges from 70 to 75 percent year-round. Miamians cool off in the ocean or embrace the heat on a hike.”

  • 22 - Tampa, Florida

One of the sunniest cities in the Sunshine State, Tampa boasts 244 days of sunshine per year. It has a cost of living that is 1 percent below the national average. And the median sold home price is $389,000. For this, you an excellent quality of life. Tampa has miles and miles of beaches, 150 city parks, and outdoor adventures.”
